Ik vond nog iets over poetsen op het VX220 forum:

Daar heb je ze dus ook ..... poetserscraglett schreef: I use Swissol products on mine but Zymol is also excellent, can't comment on Meguiars. It's a 3 stage process which you do once before winter and once after, the rest of the time is just standard washing and the occasional top-up waxing. The complete process is hard work but I would recommend it to anyone as I have never seen paintwork come back to life so well. I have only had my VX for about four weeks so far and it's definately not warm enough for the products to work properly yet (needs a little sunlight I reckon and about 8 to 10 degrees) so can't post you any pictures. The techniques I use have been passed on from a professional car detailer in Scotland who charges £180 (I think) for a full day and does all this for you.
The products I use are:
>Swissol Paint Rubber (aka Klay) Meguairs and Zymol also good - £10 and lasts ages if used correctly
>Swissol Cleaning Fluid - £20, there is also a medium fluid for heavier swirl marks.
>Swissol Saphire Wax - £70 but lasts 4 years. There is a cheaper version £40 but the Saphire has a higher wax content and is better for darker cars.
>Meguiars Wash Mit - Halfords £10
>Zymol car wash - Halfords £8
>2 Good quality microfibre cloths, 1 for removing cleaning fluid, 1 for removing wax (must pass the CD test) - B&Q £5 each
>Good quality natural leather - £10 from anywhere
The full process goes as follows (twice per year):
1) Wash car with Fairy liquid to remove all previously applied wax, plus road grime
2) Klay bar the entire car (use a soapy liquid to lubricate) to remove tar etc. You won't believe how smooth the paint is afterwards.
3) Rinse off the car and dry with leather (ensure you soak it in hot water first)
3) Use cleaning fluid to remove all chemicals picked up from the road and atmosphere, any deposits which weren't removed properly from new (protective coating supposedly removed during prep), plus remove all swirl marks (only visible in direct sunlight or strong spotlights, similar to scratches on a CD).
4) Apply wax to seal. Can be applied with fingers for that extra special moment that only you and your car should experience
5) Lightly buff off the wax, stand back and admire.
Normal wash:
1) Use Zymol car wash or baby shampoo (blue bottle) to wash the car as this is mild enough not to remove the wax. DO NOT USE FAIRY LIQUID OR A CAR WASH WHICH INCLUDES WAX.
Every other month:
1) Wash car as above, dry and apply another coat of wax.
What you will notice:
1) Water rolls off the car
2) Flies come off without hassle
3) Colour is restored beyond that of new (dealers never prep a car properly). You will notice that over time the paint develops a greyish haze, this is removed.
4) Swirl marks are removed so the car looks amazing under direct sunlight and spotlights.
5) Reflections are much more defined. This will sound silly, but I have trees near my house and the trees are now reflected perfectly whereas before they were obviously reflections of trees but very blurred. You probably need to see with your own eyes to appreciate.
Tips:
1) Never use polish, this is abrasive and gives you the hairline scratches you see in direct sunlight.
2) Never use fairy liquid to wash the car - removes all protective coatings from paint
3) Never use a car wash with added wax - you will end up with a build up and the paint will look hazy
4) Never over-wax your car - wax is usually good for two months or more
5) Don't use a standard sponge on your bodywork as it holds dirt particles which will scratch your paint
The CD test:
Take your microfibre cloth and rub it across a brand new blank CD with a medium pressure. Hold the CD in direct sunlight or under a spotlight and check for scratches. If you see any, demote the cloth to drying the wheels or cleaning the windows, or just chuck it away.
Hope some or all of this information helps
