Ferodo 2500

Al veel gelezen over de Ferodo 2500 blokken maar kom er niet achter wat de juiste prijs is voor deze blokken en om ze maar gelijk te bestellen voor de prijs die de garage opgeeft lijkt me geen goed plan. Iemand een idee (voor en achter)?

bij sommige remblokken schrijven ze niet voor MMC discs.
Weet iemand wat ze bedoelen met MMC ?

Dat zijn remschrijven waarmee sommige Elise's S1 mee zijn uitgevoerd. Volgens mij t/m bouwjaar 1997.

The original Elise (up to chassis number 3714) had Aluminium Metal Matrix Composite (Al-MMC) brake discs. This was the first production car to use this type of brake discs on all 4 wheels. These discs are identical front and rear and are 282 mm in diameter and 26mm wide.
The discs are made from aluminium, as oppose to cast iron, for 2 main reasons. Firstly, aluminium is lighter which results in savings in unsprung mass - these brake discs weigh about half that of their cast iron equivalents. Secondly, although the MMC material cannot withstand such high working temperatures compared to the cast iron disc, it's thermal conductivity makes it much easier to move heat and dissipate it to the air via the wheel rim. This keeps the brake temperature low. The acknowledged brake-killer Stelvio Pass in Italy can raise the temperature of cast iron brake discs to 700 degrees C, but the Al-MMC brake discs only reached a temperature of 320 degrees C.
The large diameter of the brake disc also eliminates the need for a brake servo, which again saves more weight as well as improving pedal feel.
The MMC bakes also have a specially developed pad material which transfers to the surface of the disc during braking. This forms a transition layer which provides the high friction between the pad and the disc. This transition layer is stable and remains at a constant thickness during normal use, as its wear rate is balanced by redeposition from the pads. There is no additional surface treatment applied to the surface of the disc to aid the braking.
The Aluminium discs have also been reinforced with about 27% SiC (silicon carbide), and hence the name Metal Matrix Composite. It is anticipated that the brakes should have a life of up to 100,000 miles.

Extremesaba: wil je met je auto veel circuitwerk gaan doen? Dan weet ik betere blokken dan de DS2500's. Kom je 1x per jaar op het circuit voor een toerritje, dan zijn de ferrodo's prima hoor.

Voilà... weeral iets bijgeleerd : MMC remschijven kende ik nog niet
Ja de Pagid RS 14 (voor de Die Hards
) heb ze juist via de post gekregen !

Zou graag op het circuit rijden maar dat zit er helaas op dit moment niet in, het zal bij de weg blijven.
