Modelled on the likes of the Ascari Resort in Spain, the entire circuit has been designed from scratch by Hermann Tilke, the industry’s most experienced circuit architect. He is best known for renowned F1 circuits such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Malaysia, Istanbul, Shanghai and has now turned his hand to creating a New Nürburgring, “The natural ‘Nordschleife flair’ with high safety standards will continue to enthuse every driver. With various ideal lines, the corners allow for approximately identical lap times, while nature itself dictates the unmistakable signature of the test track.”

Walter Röhrl, the legendary rally driver and Porsche development driver has been involved in the project from its conception, “A dream! Here, we have succeeded in returning to the origins of motoring. At Bilster Berg, the unmistakable lay-out of the track is recognisable right away: harmoniously and dynamically, it offers unique opportunities to the drivers and makes them feel the car again. This circuit can take on major natural tracks like the Nordschleife or Spa-Francorchamps.”
Tilke has conceived the plan for a 4.2 kilometres long selective natural circuit adapted to the natural topography. The track lay-out, different racing lines and a total difference in altitude of 70 metres ensure a continuous challenge for the drivers.
The largest downward gradient of 26 percent and the largest upward gradient of 20 percent. The overall difference in altitude amounts more than 200m on the whole track.

Dat is wel maf ja, gezien DF het voor 350 euri kan, en die zijn toch wel van het winst maken.
Misschien dat LOT er een maximum aantal op gezet heeft.

Gaaf, daar had ik wel naar toe gewilt, als ik niet een jaar in de USA zou zijn. Wel jammer dat het prijzig is, maar ik geloof absoluut de moeite waard.

En ik boek niets meer totdat ik m'n wagen terug heb. Ik gok dat Herman dan ondertussen al 12 keer op Dunsfold gereden heeft. Iets dat ik straks ook nog eens moet doen met het nieuwe blok erin...

Waar wacht je nog allen?
De duratec zat erin, en de emerald is toch inmiddels afgeregeld?

Zat erin? Dat blok was in december dacht ik opgehaald. Geen idee verder waarom alles nog maanden moest blijven staan. Blok zit er nu idd wel in, maar naar zeggen zou een motorsteun verkeerd geleverd zijn. Volgens Raceline is dit weer wel juist geleverd maar moet de bak in een andere (lees juiste) positie gemonteerd worden zodat alles wel uitlijnt.
Verder wacht ik al eeuwen op een template zodat ik het gat voor de koets goed kan laten uitsnijden voor het spruitstuk.
Gelukkig heb ik het te druk met papa spelen, zodat ik de puf niet heb om ruzie te gaan zoeken. Als ik dit toch had kunnen voorspellen, had ik de wagen gewoon in z'n geheel bij Raceline achtergelaten voor de inbouw.
